I looked at SUSolid ( ), but I'm not sure if it will do what I want, and I don't want to spend the money on it in case it doesn't. import and export many standard CAD format files, including dwg and dxf SketchUp.

From there I use Bob CAD-CAM V22 for the CAM. CAD offerings include BricsCAD Pro and BricsCAD Platinum BricsCAD Pro. SLDPRT in SolidWorks but apparently that's all still wireframe. This allows me to selectively choose the geometry I want and then export it to a DXF file. I've found ways to convert the SketchUp into STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, and had someone else convert it to. Is there any way of doing this without expensive software? (with free/open source plug-ins?) If an invalid option is provided, it will be silently ignored. Below is a list of the valid options that each exporter will accept.

(I think currently it's a wireframe, but for mold design / quoting apparently it needs to be a 3D solid model.) The SketchUp Ruby API has different exporter plugins that are shipped with the product.
